Only infectious disease are contageous.If the inflamation of the brain due to infection,yes.Others such as heart disease,kidney diesase,diabetic,hypertension are not contageous.
Encephalitis (brain information) can be due to assorted causes. Usually it is cause by a viral infection. It may also be caused by a bacterial infection. The virus or germs may be contagious, but may not necessarily evoke encephalitis in another infected individual. Yeast or fungal infection is another basis.
Certain parasitic infections may cause encephalitis.
The swelling may also be due to an injury or form of poisoning, surrounded by which case it is patently not contagious.
