Usually somewhat genetic, appears at onset of young adulthood & typically found on upper arms and thighs. My dr. has prescribed Aquaphor, scrub with salycylic tart, and sun, none of which has help too much.Anyone hold suggestions for a skin condition call keratosis pilaris?
Try using a lotion with glycolic tart and urea. If the glycolic acid is too strong for you, try lactic acerbic. Scrubbing really doesn't do much good - you requirement to dissolve the keratin that builds up in your pelt follicles, and then prevent it from accumulate in the adjectives. Glycolic acid is pretty strong stuff, so start slowly. Also be sure to use sunscreen because it make you more sensitive to the sun. If your problem is primarily bumps, rather than glow, this can help comparatively a bit. The redness isn't as unproblematic to deal next to. Check out the websites below for more info.
I've tried acid peel (salicylic followed by glycolic acid), which helped somewhat. It get rid of the bumpy feeling, but the red grades were still in that.
I also tried IPL laser (the kind they use for skin rejuvenation and pigment problems on the skin). I individual had one treatment and it help quite a bit, more than anything else - but doing the entire upper arms be too expensive for me so I didn't do it again.
Daily I use a salt scrub mixed near tea tree oil, followed by a moisturizer. That keep the bumps in check but again the rosiness is still there.
